Not sure there'll be much time between now and the demolition for renting it out. Maybe in the new stadium.
We can put the bodies under the new stand ...sorted

In some respects onomah, winks, edwards did enough to suggest that mason, bentaleb, carroll will get in their way?Only one game but also chadli&Son didnt impress,Lamela did, yedlin looked ok and Harrisson got a chance. Not all bad but 3 kids in defence against Juve was always a big ask.
We were there for the PR and money, not sure how the PR worked out with a whole 1st XI not attending,

It will be interesting to see if more people go on Friday. I would guess it's more likely people from outside Melbourne who don't play to go on Friday and maybe stay in Melbourne. My brother is going tomorrow night. I'm coaching so I can't go.

Whats the general view from fans & media about the weakened squad we sent?is there sympathy and understanding or are ticket buying fans a bit pissed at the line up?I hope there is some sympathy for the pre season plight after the euros, and am sure the distance covered is appreciated, its a huge effort from the club to travel so far afield again.

Excellent first quarter, hit the woodwork twice,Winks really looking the part, can see why some may be moved on to accomodate him.
Athletico not pressing CBs and Vorm as much as Juve, which was where we floundered in the 1st match.Looks very bright.

Thought they did well against a strong CL finalist side. Average age of 22 and some who haven't had a first team start. Not bad at all.
Winks and Onomah look very comfortable, defence was more confident this time. I'm not going to go overboard on Edwards, we've barely seen him really to be making OMG statements like I've seen from some. Unlike most, I don't mind Mason. I just think he needs to be playing in a more forward role as he seems to like a late arrival into the box. Carroll and Chadli to move on for me.

It could well be that winks, onomah, edwards do no better than nabil, chadli, carroll or even Son,but maybe time to move some on to provide chances for these very promising kids.I agree about Mason,I like ryan he got crocked scoring the winner in our first win last season and missed half of it afterwards.the level the team played last season I wonder if the pressure of having to make your mark quickly to get back in the side was a factor in a not so stellar return after the injury.
I am not asking for chadli, son, nabil etc to be moved on,i am quite happy with them, but the new kids need a chance to progress, and preferably with spurs not on loan here there and everywhere.

Wasn't able to watch the game this morning but have recorded it on my sky box to watch later. Good to see Winks getting a start.

Like ire, I don't give a damn for results in the preseason, but I do like seeing the youngsters play, as its very hard to get to watch the U21s play over here.

I'm inclined to agree with @skiathospurs in that there are a few youngsters--Winks in particular caught the eye yesterday--that I'd probably favor over the likes of Chadli. Nothing against Nacer, I just favor youth, and some of them look the business to me. For perspective, the announcers over here pointed out that Winks was something like two months younger than Saúl. Poch obviously knows what to do with young talent, and seems to me that it's probably time to stick or twist with some of our youngsters. Be interesting to see what he does.

On a different note, has Pritchard even made the trip?

No,pritch didnt go.he,bentaleb, fazio been told to find new clubs by Poch, there are direct quotes before the tour on this.Njie didnt travel cos of a knock. pochettino "Njie is injured - he is in london & not available to come. The situation of other 3 players is very clear. They are not in my plans"
The way Levy works if he can squeeze £30m out of bentaleb, fazio, carroll, pritch or +£40m if chadli is thrown in,if winks, onomah, mason.edwards,CCV are to be part of the squad then I can go with that.I think yedlin showed enough for him to stay at the club this year and do or die (so to speak).

Pre and even early season are about being ready for the long slog ahead,TBH I would prefer to see a good spirit /performance than a win in the style Athletico achieved cos its meaningless in the long run.

People think this season will be easier because we don't play Thursday's ,I think the opposite were playing a higher level of opposition midweek with basically a similar squad I think it's going to be harder to juggle and people won't be happy with me saying this but probily at the expense of the domestic cups

I missed that one, kind of a shame but you could see the writing on the wall when he didn't break through last year.

I'd guess that if people were pissed off they'd be more angry at the competition organisers for charging high prices at a shit venue when they could have had it at an actually football ground or even the Etihad and people would have been a lot closer to the action. I'd be fairly sure that most fans understand that the players that played in the Euros weren't going to be there.

Been way too busy with work and a holiday to have caught up with the hell has been going on....see that we got beat in OZ but took the squad only and Lamela was the star of the show, whilst Janssen has also scored. I like very much that Marcus Edwards is involved.

Inter Milan tonight.

Is the inter game today or tomorrow? I'm confused..... Would be good to see a mixed but slightly stronger team than we played out in Oz and it looks like we'll get that anyway.

I have a bit of a concern, without wishing to sound like the 'prophet of doom', about the core of our team being match fit for Everton. All of Kane, Walker, Rose, Dier, Alli, Dembele, Toby, Jan and Hugo had extended holidays, which they obviously needed, but with one friendly in Oslo under their belt before Everton, they might need a bit more match practice. A similar pre season for Chelsea didn't work out so well last season.....I'm sure Poch has a plan??
