Not sure what Ange said, but he may be referring to the implications of such a fragile / negative mindset on the support for the team.

IMHO, rivalry is a natural part of football fandom, but to actively wish for your own team's failure goes against the fundamental principles of loyalty and support.

Our support should be more than just wanting to see our rivals lose.
It's about standing by our team through the highs and lows, cheering them on during victories and offering encouragement during defeats.

The thought of hoping your club loses in order to spite a rival undermines the very essence of fandom and the bond between supporters and their team.

Taking that further, this kind of mentality contributes to a toxic atmosphere within the fan base and detracts from the joy of supporting your team. It fosters negativity and hostility. Imagine our HOME stadium filled with fans with that kind of mindset: hope we lose.

That’s not the sense of camaraderie and unity any club would hope for from its fans.

If we are in the game and not dominated Ange usually takes the positives out of it. We were in the game. Something has really pissed him off and I think it's the fans.
Fucking rightly so when some bellends want us to lose and are doing the fucking Poznan in celebration to us going a goal down...

Wankers.

I'm out of tune with most fans on the hatred of the arse. It's tribal and that's not me. They are better than us right now and reversing that is what matters. If they win the title they deserve it.
Ange seems genuinely surprised and disappointed at our fans but I'm not sure what he has seen inside the club that is fragile.
His health ? Sure I heard him cough a little...
Ah I'm only messin....
I just hope he's given the power and the freedom to make the changes to the squad that "HE" wants to make within the budget he's been given.
Let him have a pop. If it's a dig at the fans, fair enough. If we're too busy wishing Arsenal fail rather than wishing Spurs succeed, well that's just plain pathetic imo.
I want him to stir it up but I'd like to think he's wise enough to know not to have a go directly or indirectly at Levy.
There will only ever be one outcome in that scenario.
Changes need to be made, so go ahead big Ange, stand back and let fly...

Not so worried about the fragility "outside the club" because Ange will give it the attention it deserves (ie none) but I'm really curious as to the "inside the club" fragility.

Welcome back, IIRC it’s been a while. Sadly, the weakness inside the club is going to take a hell of a long time to change. I think he’s the guy to do it if he’ll stick around.

That was a really good effort form our boys, really good. We made City work for the points. I am pretty sure VAR was turned off for any City 'discrepancies' as their first goal looked like DeBruyne was offside and the penalty? Nah, not really. Despite what Posty said I think we do have the foundations of a good side, like always, and it sounds like a broken record, we need strikers! Sonny, Johnson, Richarlison and Kulu have all 'disimproved' (I made that word up),if Levy fronts up the wedge for 3 or 4 top class replacements this summer then we could do very well next season.

I'm glad Bentancur gave that fucking chair a kicking, it was getting right on my thrupnies, sitting there like a cunt, it was obviously planted by CIty to mock our players. Bentancur was good, Pedro, Vicario, VDV (obviously) and Sarr stood out for me last night. I'm happy for Sarr 'cos he has looked a bit ragged lately.

I wanted a 100% effort from our boys and that's what I got, no complaints from me. The cunts that wanted us to lose can fuck off into the darkest corner of their cesspits and never return. O'Hara didn't want nasty phone calls from Goon fans, I suspect he'll be getting a few from proper Spurs fans, not the plastic cunts who got what they wanted last night.

I think it was directed at the mindset of the fans mate. Don’t get me wrong, I hate Arsenal as much as the next Spurs fan but I stop short of the idea that we’d throw games if it meant stopping them.

If we go out last night aiming to lose then it’s 90 minutes of precious developmental time against a great team wasted. And we’d have learned nothing. Thankfully the players and the manager do not think that way and even though we lost, I feel we have gotten quite a bit out of that match.

it's not something I will enjoy but I'm trying to question the fragility within the club.
Some of the players have shown fragility be it either physically or mentally.

Richarlison could be seen as fragile on both counts.

Vdv although our player of the season Ange admitted has to be managed due to his hamstring fragility, playing him at LB was a worry for Ange due to the up and down nature of the role.

Bentancur has not fully recovered it seems.

Werner perhaps has fragility in front of goal?

Vicario has had set piece issues.

Bissouma is inconsistent to say the least.

Udogie while an exciting prospect is not the finished article.

Maddison I would suggest is perhaps physically fragile as has dipped after his injury.

I won't go on, could be wrong , I'm trying to look at it with an open mind.

I think the kids use the term “butt hurt” which you could apply to a LOT of “fans” on social media today after Ange’s presser.

They want a winning manager but when they get one they start complaining.

Richarlison could be seen as fragile on both counts. Strong as fuck to stand up and admit he has mental health issues he needs to manage

Vdv although our player of the season Ange admitted has to be managed due to his hamstring fragility, playing him at LB was a worry for Ange due to the up and down nature of the role. 1st season for a young player in he most demanding league in the world. He will adapt.

Bentancur has not fully recovered it seems. Pushing 3 months out... Match fitness will improve.

Werner perhaps has fragility in front of goal? On loan and we can drop him like a shitty stick if we choose.

Vicario has had set piece issues. Had.

Bissouma is inconsistent to say the least. Played in the AFCON so is probably fucked tired while still being called upon to be first choice CM.

Udogie while an exciting prospect is not the finished article. You can't be the finished article... Until you are. He is brilliant now with a ceiling probably way above the level we will provide for him.

Maddison I would suggest is perhaps physically fragile as has dipped after his injury. Another who spent nearly 3 months out and then because an absolute must in the starting 11 without any time to be brought on slowly.

I won't go on, could be wrong , I'm trying to look at it with an open mind.

It's simple IMO... Squad depth, the start of another new project, our ability to fiscally compete with mega clubs while we act like also'rans and inconsistent objectives.

If we're Man Citeh... We're nearly a decade into an unlimited funds project where the objective is 100% dominance in world football...

The stark difference is the commitment to the objective... Our club has not committed to anything other than being as far in the black as they can possibly be.

I don't especially rate Richarlison on the pitch, but mental health struggles are not "fragility." And the manager agrees, or at least said as much when Richy went public with it.

I didn't know he'd had an exchange with a fan in the stadium. Seeing this, it seems pretty obviously this was what he had in mind.

The clubs only striker having mental health struggles and injury problems is hardly a strength.
I have every sympathy with Richi but I am trying to keep emotion out of it. We can't carry passengers.

Ange is 100% correct. Beyond what he has in the playing squad, there is simply no demand nor expectation tat we win at this club. For me, that is the biggest thing that needs to change. But has to start with the front office. If they're not all in to win (and they most certainly are not) then it permeates throughout the entire club and fanbase. Not saying I'm a mind reader but I think this is what he's talking about. If this match was dead rubber I might have been fine with Ange throwing on the kids and see what happens. But a CL spot was still up for grabs, so yeah, i wanted to win the damn match and Ange did too. I'm a bit mystified about why anything he said is being criticized.

He'd have no grounds to do that, he hasn't been Levied yet has he...

I think it was more at the pathetic mentality of Spurs fans wanting their side to lose...

Looks like the root of this has been found out. According to the Dustin George-Miller (no idea),several members of Spurs' staff were making comments about how they wanted to lose and that we should play a youth side. Some said this to Ange directly. If true, then his frustration is well justified.

YES I THINK THAT IS WHAT HE IS REFERING TO... THAT IS OBVIOUSLY JUST MY UNSUBSTANTIATED OPINION HOWEVER...
Brooklyn suggests staff members expressed their wish for us to lose. That is within.

If true, then that's absolutely appalling... No wonder he's pissed.

There's been a cancer in the club for many years now. Manager after manager after manager have walked in with positive aspirations and walked out waving their arms in the air.
It's no longer a coincidence. Whether it's Levy or maybe it's old school staff and fans that have been institutionalised as a result of the last 30 years of just being happy with the mediocre. The "it'll do" attitude. Something has to be done in a very radical way....but with Levy and Lewis, it won't happen.
That press conference was not a good look for the club. The scenes of Spurs fans at the ground celebrating Haaland's goal is embarrassing, regardless of the context of the situation.
The fact is, if our club was run half as well as Arsenal over the last number of seasons, maybe we'd be challenging for trophies instead of being childish about Arsenal winning some.
They've been aggressive and had a plan over 4/5 years. They went out and got the best young midfielder in the PL and spent £100m...done. We sold the best striker in the world and didn't bother signing a replacement. Thats the difference in a nutshell.
Ange is right. And I'll tell ya lads if he walks, I can't see any half decent manager wanting that job unless there is a massive change in personal and attitude that unfortunately has been there for far too long.
