Everybody is saying we've all done it, yeah OK, I did when I was young and stupid, but these days everybody knows what happens when drunk cunts kill people or cripple them. No excuses.
I was one of the ones who said this, but I have to say this is a fair point. Not the same today as it was when I was a kid--I knew people who were simply escorted home by the cops when they were caught. Today, people are well aware of the dangers and potential consequences.

I was on a driver awareness course about 5 yrs ago and was speaking to this old boy about drink driving and he told me a story about how he got pulled over in the middle of a balmy Summer’s night, having had a skinful at a dinner party, he had his windscreen wipers going and no lights on, when the police officer asked him to put his lights on, he had no idea what he was doing, he kept activating the indicators and turning the windscreen wipers off and on, thinking they were the headlights, after a bit of a laugh, the police officer put his headlights on for him and let him drive off...mental!!

Anyway, onto Hugo, what a muppet!

Haha, those days are long gone, thank fuck. Personally I've never driven drunk before and don't see why someone living in a city like London with kind of dosh Hugo is on should do it, not that his earnings really matter but he can afford a taxi or chauffeur driven vehicle if he wants. Anyway, I wouldn't want him dropped for Monday unless Poch thinks he isn't right mentally. A mistake in his personal life shouldn't have an impact on the team if it isn't necessary IMO.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your pal drink driving. I'm not condoning what Hugo had done, and I agree he's a cunt. But don't see what difference him playing or not playing on Monday makes to the situation. He'll be in deep shit at the training ground and Poch will be pissed he's missed training, been on the lash and also. for me his punishment has to also be based around how much over the limit he was. If he's had one wne and is a fraction over the limit it's wrong but a stupid mistake if he's a had a couple it's a much bigger issue as would have been aware he was over, if he's had a skin full then the punishment needs to be tough from the law and us. But nobody knows if he's had a glass of wine or a bottle, I don't agree with drink driving at all which I why I've never done it but each situation has to be taking on an individual basis. He hasn't crashed his car and caused mayhem Tony Adams style, it was a routine stop and he failed a breathalyser, how much he failed by makes a big difference.

I think he must be dropped for Monday's game, I don't give a fuck how mentally right or wrong he is. I agree with your later post that any permanent punishment has to depend on the crime which he may or may not have committed, he is still innocent until a judge says he ain't. But, until all doubt is removed he can't be wearing the armband and I don't think he should play in the 2 games that are scheduled before he goes to court.

I am not prejudging him now, just ranting about the stupid drink driving laws and fines. The limit should be fuck-all, then there wouldn't be any of this 'did he have two glasses, did he deck the whole bottle?' bollocks. If you know the limit is nuffink then that's how much you can drink. The fines are pathetic, the record fine of £86,000 to that Ant Wossisface was supposed to set an example and be based on his earnings - he earns £130k a week so £86k is not even a weeks fucking wages for an offence that could lead to his and other people's deaths.

Difficult one for all concerned. I would imagine Poch will deal with it professionally behind the scenes and I expect Vorm on Monday, with Kane captain. Lloris will be back very soon however having also been fined. He has a whole country to apologise to as well. No winners here.

This thread (and the OMT),social media, written press,tv media are the reason (not the only I add)why Hugo stays at home monday.Instead of preparing and talking about one of our biggest games of any season, away at old trafford, its all about what a dick hugo has been.So i dont even get to judging him, thinking about punishment, football reasons purely for me he doesnt play now.Its a distraction we dont need in a match that will help define our league position come May,the fact I dont consider him eligable is both moral and from what the team/manager for football reasons must undertake this weekend.

There have been plenty of opinions on him and what he must now face,I havent seen us breakout the T shirts in support of him,or any spurs fan rallying behind him,the condemnation is universal,so I have nothing to add except that 1st paragraph.

I agree mate, should be fuck all. If you had a drink then you can't drive but that's currently not the law, unfortunately. The fines are shite too, it's seems it's only multiple offences that get any punishment that's meaningful like losing your licence or fines that have a real impact. Don't condone what he did at all and think he's a twat for doing so, even more so because he earns loads and can afford the ridiculous cab fares in London. I think he should lose the armband for at least a short term basis but would have to earn it back and it not just be a token gesture just don't see that dropping him is going to benefit him, the club, the fans or anyone. I understand role model and all but he now has the chance to set a good example by showing remorse for his actions publicly and putting the performances in on the pitch. Once we know the full details (the club may already know) then he should receive the relevant punishment from the club. But I agree the law should be nothing at all then there is no confusion and no excuses.

Hold on lads... Are you trying to kid yourselves?

A breathalyse test is conclusive. Pass or fail.

There is no grey area between being fucking plastered or marginally over.

I am glad we universally agree that he is a cunt, and while I dont want him out of the club I no longer have respect for him. I dont want him to wear the armband.

He is another employee of the club now and one that I am ambivalent to outside of him stopping other teams scoring.

He is on the crest of a wave, the most successful footballer at our club, a world cup winner ffs. His stock couldn't have been higher and he spunks it all for a beer or two.

He is absolute cunt.

To make matters worse, if that is possible, the cunt was out with Koscielny and fucking Giro! I don't want him booted out, that would be daft, but he cannot be the captain now, nope, not having that. I don't want him playing on monday for two reasons, the ammunition he will give the mank fans and I am too pissed off with him at the moment.

This could be the beginning of the end for Hugo at Spurs, he will be on the receiving end of massive amounts of abuse at every PL game now, maybe he can deal with that, maybe not.

That's actually not true I believe? It's the Blood Alcohol level test done at the station is the one they use for a conviction isn't it?

You can blow positive at the roadside, and still clear at the station from what I understand.

Not that I literally drink anything at all and drive, for I am not a fucking moron.

Nope they can convict off of a breathalyse test. If it is marginal then yes a BT can be requested.

What we are not in anyway unclear about is he is a fucking stupid cunt.

I AM a fucking moron but even I wouldn't take my car keys with me when I was thirsty! These days they could breathalyse the fuck out of me and I would get a badge saying what a jolly good chap I was, I haven't had a hangover for nearly three years! When the medics ask me how much alcohol I drink I can turn on smug mode and say less than 10 units per week, sometimes zero ( it used to be 30-40 per day, so I rounded that down to about 30 a week when the blokes in white coats asked me, not those blokes in white coats, the ones that give you the red pills and take the sharp things away from you, I wouldn't talk to those fuckers, they are the ones who are fucking mental, not me.)

In Oz they used to do random breath tests, you'd be driving along on a nice Sunday morning and there would be a police road block and you had to blow their balloons up for them. Good idea that, along with reducing the limit to zero and huge fines, vehicle confiscation and community service cleaning up the blood and brains from A&E departments. Cunts seem to think it's funny drinking and driving, they also think texting and driving is a minor thing, doing 80 mph down the country lanes I walk on in the mornings is not a problem. It is a problem for them when I walk past their parked motor and accidentally smash the fuck out of the wing mirrors with my hand weights, whoops!

I’m not sure about it being the end. Players like Alonso were worse and relatively recently Rooney and Firmino have got away with minimal crowd reaction. He’s going to have to suck up the shame from those around him and move on, having learnt a painful lesson.

No probably not, depends on his reaction to the abuse. Some blokes love it like Dele, other blokes have their brains twisted up and do the bad things. Being the captain of the World Cup winning team and ex-capitain of the team so many people love to hate in the premiership might add to the level of unpleasantness. I won't blame the opposition fans for any evils they throw at him, we would have done and do do ( hee hee doo-doos ) the same.

Twice the drink drive limit, vomit found in the car. Was doing 15mph in a 30 zone and veered towards parked cars, and drove through a red light.

What a prat.
That annoys me. A £50k fine for a bloke who earns £100k a week is fuck-all. Half a single week's earnings? Taking the piss.

For this sort of serious offence the fine should be at least 3 month's salary, and a jail sentence, probably suspended for a first offence, but I am sure victims of drink drivers would say not. His flash car should be confiscated and sold. Hugo and all the other cunts who think it's OK to drink and drive should have to work in an A&E department every weekend for a year, mopping up the blood from drunk cunts who have smashed themselves and others to pieces.

People see drink driving, using mobiles and speeding as not serious offences, I have heard so many cunts bragging in pubs like it's all a bit of a laugh - these offences fucking kill people and the courts have to get medieval on them. Hands up anyone who has gone anywhere recently and not seen a cunt on their phone while driving?

The 31-year-old, of East Finchley, pleaded guilty when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

He was fined £50,000 and banned from driving for 20 months.

The court heard police in an unmarked car spotted Lloris' Porsche Panamera driving at 15mph (24kph) in a 30mph (48kph) zone.

He veered his car "towards parked vehicles" before correcting himself and went through a red light, prosecutor Henry Fitch said.

When officers stopped the vehicle, they found vomit and said Lloris had to be helped from the car.

Magistrate Amanda Barron said it was "pure luck" Lloris "did not cause damage to other vehicles or pedestrians", and his actions had put his and his passenger's lives at risk.

The court was told the Spurs goalkeeper provided a sample containing 80 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit in England and Wales is 35 micrograms.

I had hoped he was just a bit tipsy, but it seems he was completely shitfaced and still decided to drive. Car service? Uber? Taxi? Any of these would have had a better outcome.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for him:

"The captain of France’s 2018 World Cup winning team had been out with Arsenal captain and French teammate Laurent Koscielny, plus Chelsea and France striker Olivier Giroud for dinner and drinks in central London. When he left the restaurant he was pulled over by an undercover police car. "

That's the thing, though. It's when you're shitfaced that you're most likely to make bad decisions. In the past now, all he can do is A) don't fucking do it again; and B) devote his time to encouraging others not to do the same thing he did.

To be honest at this point I can't believe he played against Man United. Once he stepped on the field I figured he was stupid but a fraction over the limit. Silly cunt was lit to the pipe by the sounds of it.
