It would appear, yet again that Levy will go for a budget option, in the hope that he finds a gem. When what we really need in our new status and level of expectation as a top 4/Champions League club, is Levy to leave and a new wealthy owner to appoint an experienced progressive manager with CL experience and a budget to buy the tools (players) to do the job properly.

There's no real alternative in my view. The problem with Levy is that his view keeps getting reinforced by occasional successes, that he can't see the bigger picture from a footballing viewpoint. Getting a Van der Vaart, a Modric, a Bale, A Dele, a Kane, a Son and a Hojbjerg together with a Pochettino, papers over all the dross and wasted money on french wingers, Sissoko's, N'Dombele's, Soldado's, Auriers and Sanchez's etc. Add in the Mourinho debacle and you have the bigger malaise. He's still burned by the magnificent 7, when the Bale money was wasted on 7 average players rather than 3 world class ones. He needs to get over examples like that and more recently find a replacement fro Steve Hitchen and a better scouting network....Leicester seem to have one.

Football is moving on quickly, we didn't move with it last time, because Sugar was treating the club like cash cow for his failing Amstrad business and placating the fans with an occasional signing like Klinsmann (in modern day for Levy see Gareth Bale). Now that we've caught up and with the stadium moved ahead of the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool, we need the investment quickly in the management and playing staff. I can't remember the former Juventus managers name, but someone like that, or Ancelotti, would get my vote. Along with a Jeff Bezos type character (sorry I'd always hoped we could be successful organically but I fear not now with the level of debt) or maybe the Qatari sovereign wealth fund (if we put human rights records to one side?? so maybe not).

But unless he changes completely and utterly Levy has to leave.

You paint a very truthful and yet depressing picture!

@Don Diaz you make some interesting & valid points but I don't feel it is actually as dire as that from a footballing perspective. What we need is a Rangnick or Campos with their scouting skills & the former's progressive approach. Rangnick is like the godfather of high tempo, possession based, pressing & counter-pressing. He preceded Klopp, Pep, & Poch. It makes so much sense for Levy to hire one of them as DoF, have them scout some young, talented, energetic gems & implement their system of play. It's far more affordable & should be very Levy-like. Levy gives them a budget to work within. But it makes far too much sense. And here's where the bleakness comes in: Levy has to relinquish control. That's what I feel is the stumbling block. Is he willing to do so?

In terms of negotiating, Levy is still living off the Rafa VDV deal. He did hit one out of the park with that. Can he do it again? I'm still waiting.

Been reading that Woolwich are possibly going to target Sarri and also that the chances of us luring Conte from Italy are "virtually nil", according to some Italian journos working for ESPN.

I imagine our dear leader is still probably of the mind that as soon as he formally offers the job to someone that they will fall to their knees in tears crying "Yes! Yes! I'll take it!" because he probably thinks we're up there with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid as the world's most desireable job.

The more this sorry situation drags on, I can really see it being someone like Potter or Benitez because they'll be the only options left. Although, to be fair, Benitez with Potter as his number 2 might be an intruiging prospect.

Allegri from Juventus is probably the most accomplished and experienced available? thing is in the Summer all the ggod guys will be retained (obviously?) unless Levy comes in with stupid money, which Levey doesn't do. So we're going to get a reject. Fucking waste of time tbh, we need a proper overhaul.

Allegri has now been installed as the bookies favourite for Woolwich if that happens. Potter has said he's happy at Brighton and their chairman has said that no approaches have been made and that he'd reject any that were.

So we're almost down to Rafa or Eddie Howe.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if we appoint Rafa and it turns out that Mason is his number two with dear leader trumpeting some kind of half-baked "plan of succession" so that Mason can learn from Rafa and take over from him when he's sack...I mean, err, he leaves of his own accord.

It's almost funny how fucked we are...

If this was the Scum we'd be pissing ourselves laughing at the colossal cluster of fucks we find ourselves burried beneath, because of the complete incompetence of one solitary individual...

DANIEL FUCKING LEVY YOU CUNT.... I SEE YOU YOU BALD CUNT...!!!

Rafa & Allegri both think defense first. Don't believe I can handle more of packing our 6 yard box.

Front foot please

If we really are looking for “an attack minded manager” then it’ll end up being Howe.

I read that Howe may be heading north to Celtic. More his level.

If Lille win the French league then PSG might sack Pochettino.

🤔

I'd read that as well but I also saw something that suggested he was hesitant to uproot his family

Would he come back though ?. Would Levy have him back ?

I suppose you could argue that he'd have a better insight on how to deal with Levy and transfers, but would he come back if he was faced with largely the same squad that was there when he left and that, apparently, demoralised him so much that he wanted to quit if we'd won the Champions League?

I'd be over the moon if he did come back though.

Why would Poch come back ??? He'd be mental to do that. If there was ANY chance, Levy would have to seriously taste humble pie....he won't. His ego's far too big for that. He'll have fuck all of a budget but be expected to make top 4 with an average squad. He probably won't have Kane either. Nah, it's a fantasy that. There's more chance of Gerry Francis coming back...

Levy will probably do it for a laugh.

He is a specialist at giving the middle finger to the fans.
You're not wrong ..

Just been listening to Graham Roberts who claims "he's been told" that part of Poch's remit at PSG was that they had to win the Champions League this season. And with PSG looking like they also might not win the League, it might be pretty short lived for him there. The sad thing is, that section of Spurs fans who constantly demonised him for not leading us to a trophy will be loving this if he's sacked.

I'd still love him to come back and finish what he started but he'd have to insist on certain things as part of his contract - final say on transfers before they even sat down to talk.

Apparently Simone Inzaghi is now the hot favourite for the job with one paper even claiming that Levy was "desperate" to hire him before The Cunt - which I personally don't believe.

Amazing how quiet everything has gone about this. I guess that's good news, better than the series of candidates turning us down like last week...

It's because there is nobody left to tell Levy to go and fuck his grandmother.

We are being managed by Sam Allardyce next season.
