We simply need to win 4 more games, get another dozen points and we're safe...

Then the autopsy should begin...

We might need more than 4 wins. I think 45 pts might still get you relegated this season. Only one thing left to do. It's Big Sam time! These players deserve him.

I bet they'll pick Heitinga as interim. All these reports are now saying that the board had been considering sacking Frank for a long time, so they would've hired Heitinga knowing that.

✍️Tottenham Hotspur are working through a list of potential successors to Thomas Frank which is believed to include Roberto De Zerbi, Mauricio Pochettino and Robbie Keane.

⚖️Spurs want new manager in place by Monday but must decide between an interim or a permanent appointment.

⚠️Maurico Pochettino’s name was sung loudly by supporters during Frank’s final game in charge of Tottenham which Venkatesham and executive chairman Peter Charrington attended and the club are extremely aware of the strength of feeling towards the Argentine. There is acceptance that it would be impossible to appoint Pochettino until after the World Cup.

🔑It is unclear whether de Zerbi would be willing to jump in at Spurs right away, although he is believed to be keen on returning to the Premier League.

🕵️‍♀️Former Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic would be interested in the Spurs post. But, as yet, he has not been approached.

🇳🇱Spurs’ only internal option would be to put John Heitinga, who was appointed to Frank’s staff last month, in charge until the end of the season.

I am out if it's de Zirbi. Really do not like him. Would be fine with Hetinga or Redknap. Anyone who doesn't get us relegated will do.

Correct answer...

I'm gonna say it now, Poch won't fix a fucking thing...

He would need to change the way the entire set up works at the club, he would need consistent backing in transfer windows, he would need assurances that he would have time to build a new side from the ground up...

There's literally no fucking way that he would be afforded that level of control...

And even if he was given that, it's still not nailed on because we're a fucking sight worse off than when he came in last time. We don't have a Bale or a Kane or Moose to drag our arses through the shit...

We have a squad full of mediocre shite and we need to clear it out in its entirety...

You fucking dare...

If I'm honest, all the options seem absolutely shite.

De Zebri - Bit shit and a recent failure. Also... Criminally wank beard.
Heightinger - More of the same potentially.
Dyche - Don't even fucking go there! I mean, I don't even know what I would do at that point. If we appointed the most anti football coach in the game and still had "to dare is to do" on our shirts... I feel sick even contemplating it 🤢.
Harry - 80 Years old, has been out the game for ages and the players won't know him from any other old geezer... They'll think it was make a fucking wish... We could fucking kill him.
Mason - Totally shit and failed spectacularly very recently at lower league football.
Sherwood - Always was and always will be, a total cock cunt. If he gets a phone call then we should just set it all on fire. Under qualified as a member of the human race, let alone a top flight manager of a supposed top 6 club.
Poch - it's a fucking booty call lads, I know it would give us 5 mins of reminiscing about "times a yonder"... But you're never going to get it back to where it once was...

No one available right now is worth a fucking wank. Even if they were worth the piss dribble off the end of my corey, they'd still be working with the same 15 fucked players who have underperformed for nearly 2 fucking seasons.

No-one should want this job.

Ange, we all know the club is cheap as fuck. That has long been established. And regardigng Poch, if the club brings him back in the summer AND seriously backs him, we'll win the title within 4 years. Yeah, i know they won't back him, but a boy can dream.

This post pretty much sums up why Frank stayed in the job as long as he did. Not many options, are there? The only person that I could have seen replacing him that was actually available until about a month ago was Carrick. Seeing Glasner's name thrown about a bit, but to me his football wouldn't win many friends around N17. Plus he's leaving a club that sold his best players out from under him. Not sure he'd be eager to work with this club if there are other options. At this point, the manager's function at Spurs is to basically be the shit shield, the fall guy when things inevitable spiral.

Honestly I don't see how any manager other than Poch (and you might be right about appointing him) would enter the job with much enthusiasm from the supporters.

Don't like the headline...but what he says is valid.... and worrying
I enjoyed reading Ange's interview.
I've always felt that he's a stand up guy with integrity.
Can't argue with what he said.
And imagine if they backed him.
This club, with its finances, could have bought Semenyo, Guehi, Neto, & Mbuemo (not that I'm that keen on all of them) along with the 3 teens. It would have certainly strengthened us & quite possibly pushed us into the top 4 after his 5th place finish.

Frank was obviously the wrong choice after Ange simply based on his character & tactical philosophy.

And as I've said before, this club has to decide "who they are" & then invest in it appropriately. That doesn't just mean financially. It means they choose a particular style of play & that runs through the whole club from youth level to the first team. Coaches / Managers have to suit that attacking philosophy. In that manner, Spurs players progress through the levels & they know how to play the Spurs way. Any new coaches / managers coming in will not disrupt that.

The amount of engagement farming from the Spurs accounts on Twatter is absurd at the moment. I've counted nearly half a dozen "strong favourites" in the last 24 hours and now they're all pushing that we've offered the interim job to Igor Tudor who recently managed Juventus.

For what its worth, Marco Rose is the betting favorite with Tudor second.

Factors for Potential Success
  • High Intensity & "Man-Marking" Trend:Modern Premier League tactics have shifted toward the aggressive, man-oriented pressing that Tudor favors. His teams at Marseille and Verona were noted for "asphyxiating" opponents through relentless pressure, a trait that can yield immediate results in the fast-paced English game.
  • Interim Specialization: Tudor has a proven track record of stabilizing "crisis" teams quickly. He secured a Europa League spot for Lazio in 2024 and Champions League qualification for Juventus in 2025 as a mid-season replacement.
  • Motivational Impact: Described as a "problem solver" and a strong motivator, his "no-nonsense" management style often provides the immediate cultural reset required for underperforming squads.

Risks and Challenges
  • Tactical Vulnerability: At Juventus in 2025, his high-pressing system was criticized for leaving massive gaps between the defense and midfield, allowing opponents to bypass the press easily. In the Premier League, elite teams are increasingly proficient at exploiting these man-to-man systems.
  • Physical Sustainability: His system demands "lots (and lots!) of running". Pundits have noted that the extreme physical toll of this approach can lead to squad fatigue and diminishing returns over a full season, as seen during his eight-match winless run prior to being sacked by Juventus in October 2025.
  • Offensive Fluency: While his teams can be "hard to beat," they have sometimes struggled with limited chance creation and "toothless" play in the final third when transitions aren't immediate.

Current Situation at Tottenham (February 2026)
As of today, Tudor inherits a Spurs side sitting 16th in the table, only 5 points above the relegation zone. His success will likely be judged on his ability to:
  1. Stop the Slump: End the club's current eight-game winless streak.
  2. Immediate Impact: Navigate a difficult run-in, starting with a North London derby against league leaders Arsenal on February 22, 2026.
  3. Defensive Stabilization: Tighten a defense that has struggled with cohesion in transition.
