Why would we be paid......?
Thats the 3million dollar question right there, wish the fuck I knew why.

I guess UEFA FA will say its a reward for developing players, but IMO its all part of the endemic money grabbing nature of sport now.I thought football had a hierarchy of control FIFA>UEFA>FA>League associations>Clubs.I am guessing some clubs have pushed back over releasing players and this was the sweetner, which regime would you vote for,the one to clean the mess up or the one offering payment.

As I said tail is def wagging the dog.

I wonder if payments are made by FIFA for world cups?or AFCON CAFCON etc do we get money for Son,Wanyama,CCV from these bodies too?In all my years I never knew this arrangement existed,I was pretty amazed when I saw the article yesterday.

In that BBC article 'Liverpool, who supplied five of Roy Hodgson's 23-man England squad.....blah fucking blah' interesting! Obviously there weren't any other teams to match this magnificent achievement of five players in the England squad.

Stevie P used to own a sports shop in Greenford not far from where I lived at the time, a proper Spurs legend with over 600 league games and always very unassuming, the most famous 'One of our own' probably, I wonder how his health is these days?

He seemed good last year when I spoke to him, very coarse humour, claimed to hate the traffic&weather in the west country! Also said about the stick he got in his early years from spurs fans,he started off with the 8 shirt (after jimmy left),they never tired of telling him "you know who`s fucking shirt you have".Guess its not just an internet age thing then :p

Club the focus in China
Posted on 16 March 2017 - 06:15

SuperSports, the Premier League broadcaster in China, has partnered with Visit Britain to produce a documentary on the Club as part of a series on UK football teams and their cities.
The 10-minute feature looks at Tottenham Hotspur’s connection to London, our history and what it means to be a supporter, as well as looking ahead to the future with particular focus on our Academy and new stadium development.

Ledley King and Head of Coaching & Player Development, John McDermott, are among those to speak as well as lifelong fan and NBA legend Steve Nash – a huge name in China given the popularity of basketball.

The documentary has been promoted across our Chinese social media channels throughout the week and today aired across all of SuperSports’ platforms – that includes 18 regional TV stations across the country.

Joe lewis story
Dont hear or know much about him except he`s stinking rich!

This is his 'yacht' which he moored in the Thames a few years back and that summer 2014? all the players were invited out to the Bahamas to go on it and play on the Jet ski's etc.

He's an East End boy that's done a fair bit better than Alan Sugar through City trading mostly. He has big property portfolio's as well, especially in America and a Pub chain over here - Mitchell & Butlers. He lost about £2bn back in 2008/9 ish, when he bought a shed load of Bear Stearns (I think) shares, thinking they wouldn't be allowed to go bust and they did. He's made it all back now I think. Apparently reasonable bloke, but getting old. He'll want to sell Spurs for a huge profit in the next 2-3 years I would imagine.

In the most recent share dealing which closed today at 2pm, shares in Tottenham Hotspur were traded at 225p. This values the club at just under £500m, up around £75m from about a year ago.

Something more than 'winner' required here....
Probably his last time at the lane, must have been emotional for him,he never wanted to leave spurs.Glad the club did a good thing at last to patch things up,such a shame he was struck down just before the long over due hall of fame award.

Not sure if anyone heard the discussion this morning on Jim White's talkshite programme on the wireless.

In short he and Danny Murphy were discussing where Tottenham are in the big picture and next steps, particularly in the transfer market. One view was that to improve the squad the only option now is to be able to afford to buy a couple of marquee players and pay the associated wages of say £200k per week. The argument went along the lines of Hazard better than Eriksen etc. Or simply continue to train and coach excellence of players bought in young or brought through. In addition they discussed spurs being basically brilliant at the moment and a poll recognised them as easily the most attractive team to watch in the division.

So I was thinking...hang on after Hazard better than Eriksen and thats highly debateable because they are different players - Hazard is more Dele type? there is no etc. Who else is better in the Chelsea first XI than our own first XI, the biggest difference is possiblly squad depth and the ability to change things/cope with significant injuries - which Chelsea haven't had to do this season and they had no European football. This is the real reason for a 7 point gap.

I don't subscribe to the marquee signing argument unless you continually buy enough of them to guarantee success. See Manchester United, once they have spent about £600m they might be challenging under Mourinho.......Ferguson did it with 'kids' and similarly coached winners.

Poch will do the same.

An honour to welcome the one and only @jimmy_greaves back to White Hart Lane today with his family...

Sir Trevor Brooking, Sir Bobby Robson, Sir Geoff Hurst, Sir Alec Ferguson, Sir Bobby Charlton and Sir Every Other Cunt..........

Talk to your MP and demand SIR JAMES PETER GREAVES and SIR BILL NICHOLSON - now! Are you listening Theresa May, you unelected waste of space. I reckon even if Jimmy hadn't been injured in 66 he still wouldn't have got a knighthood because he didn't play for fucking United.

Harry will save them! His appointment seems to be until the end of the season, 3 more games - so loads of time, he only needs 8 points to make sure, could be fun with Blackburn and Forest fighting for survival.
