How much would we get for him ? Seriously ? Or any nearest offer. He's probably the worst example of a captain you could have.
He's not even a great defender ffs...
Double shit captain...

Bergval is captain material...

I'd have said Mickey but I don't think he'll be here next term...

THIS IS A POLL...

If you believe Romero was "Sick" at half time against Man Citeh please like this post. 👍🏼

If like me, you dont believe that and think he "threw his toys out the pram and refused to come out" give this post a shocked face. 😯

Well we play Man U on Saturday, so let's see if he's still "sick"....considering the way the players applied themselves without him on the pitch, I'd say he'll still be under the weather.
Easy to go OTT on this, but it says alot when the manager makes a change like that, and each and every player increases their efforts by 50%. Maybe Romero has been disruptive in the dressing room, and just maybe that was Frank making the decision that the rest of them secretly were happy with....and they responded to him with that second half....

Just a theory....

It’s only disgraceful when there is not 10/11 first team players injured……

and you have squad places available to bring in new players……

They should all start openly going after the board.
I agree. Just adopt a “fuck it” mentality and everyone openly call them out.

They’re not going to sack anyone or transfer list anyone so why not ?

Probably his last game for the club. Be surprised to see him in the lily white again

I think he’s a good player, probably one of our best, but that’s irrelevant because he’s been suspended for so much of the season. If there’s ever been a time when we needed a real leader it’s been this season and he hasn’t been there. Which I guess is another way of saying what CK said…

And that’s the thing that tipped it for me mate. Yep, good player and I’ll even forgive the first 3 match suspension he copped this season. But the second one was just fucking ridiculous and not befitting anyone wearing our shirt. For a captain and alleged leader to get himself rubbed out again for an act of sheer thuggery (no matter what the bleeding hearts tell you, that “tackle” was just disgusting) is the end of it for me.

He has let this club down when he was most needed. Just fuck off and fuck off now.

Makes me wonder if he'll subsequently announce he's leaving. I imagine the vast majority of the fanbase will be perfectly ok with that as well, especially when the club captain opts to miss arguably the most important game in his club's history.

RDZ's remarks when asked about Romero:
“100%, I understand. [Romero] spoke with the medical staff and together they decided to go to Argentina to complete the rehab with Argentinian medical staff.

“I want to be clear, I am not stupid. If I understand there is any player who thinks for himself before the club, I can’t be the same Roberto, but with Cuti Romero, I can’t say anything because with me, in my time, he has been correct from the beginning until now. The decision was with the medical staff and I think he can’t change anything if Romero is at the stadium or not.

“Finally, I have no time to lose energy and to lose thinking other things. We have to be focused on the game and we have the players good enough to achieve our target.”
If I was to give Romero the benefit of the doubt, I guess I can understand him wanting to get the fuck away from our medical team ASAP. But this is embarrassing.

Hoddle’s take on the situation..

“It sums his selfishness up. He can't be a captain and act like that. If it was for his family or something like that then fine but if this is true that he's going back to watch a football match, then let him stay in Argentina and get as much money for him as possible.
"When I think back to the captains I played for and the great captains who went before me, the pride that you have in being captain of Tottenham. Wow. It's absolutely scandalous.

"It sums up his character. He's saying let's all pull together. Ha. He's just shown his true colours. Incredible decision. Call himself a captain?!"

Can’t argue with a word of that.

RDZ defending him at his presser and trying to claim that it was after a discussion with the medical team that it was decided to let him go back to Argentina.

At the same time Ben Davies apparently asked to stay with the squad at the Lodge even though he’s also injured and most likely has played his last game for the club due to his contract situation.

Give me ten of him over one Romero any day.

Ben Davies is a player we have really missed in this relegation struggle. Would have been a far better captain then any of the others muppets who've tried.
