If anyone knows about this shit I'm genuinely interested in alternatives...
Same as in football,we need to transfer someone in,I would go for that bird from NZ,one of the few I can remember who seems to be the best of us,and actually doing best by her people.

Honestly J with all due respect WTAF is going on over there??

Honestly, the vast majority of people are just doing what they ought to do. But there are a lot of lunatics out there, and they're being amplified by the President of the United States.

It's just repeating itself over and over again. Trump says something stupid (sometimes paraphrasing Fox News people,) then his lackeys, like Giuliani take to Twitter and Fox News to spin it, and the next thing you know, some guy I knew in high school shares a viral posting on Facebook that A) Trump didn't actually say what everybody heard him say; B) it's all a big left-wing hoax to crash the economy and bring on socialism; and C) maybe there's something to chloroquine/radiation/bleach that the doctors won't tell you because they're in on the conspiracy. Then, like fucking clockwork, 300-400 fuckwits take to the streets of the various state capitals to protest, holding up signs saying versions of A, B, and C.

Then, on top of that, you have Republican state governors and mayors who are trying to capitalize on all this, and they're talking about lifting restrictions like the governor of Georgia announced a couple of days ago. And Trump, when asked about what the governors are doing, will say one thing today and the opposite tomorrow.

I saw already his religious nutter press sec has tried to walk back what he said by saying the media misinterpreted him.Trump vs science, history will not absolve him,and being the megolamanic narcissist he is, I hope he is still alive to see that. The only thing better would be him to lose all his wealth.

Yep. Steps one and two of the cycle I was talking about are well in motion.

Honestly I don't think he would even be aware of what history will say about him, and he's already lost all his money, several times. What would torture him (and a lot of people like him) is if he was completely ignored. That would be Hell on earth for him.

His support is so polarized.
You've got the backwater, banjo picking, toothless, in-bred morons ("he speaks stupid sense like he's kin") at one end & the ultra wealthy who see him as someone who protects their wealth.

I simply shake my head at some friends & acquaintances who support him only for keeping the economy rolling (though "we do despise him as a repugnant human being"). But there is so much more to guiding the most powerful nation on Planet Earth than just making money. Even when it comes to dealing with this pandemic. Some time ago, Trump dismantled / eliminated the National Security Council (dealing with global health & biothreat security) plus cut funding to the CDC & diverted that funding elsewhere. That office was responsible for detecting, responding, containing, & rectifying this type of outbreak. That's why previous outbreaks such as Ebola, SARS, & H1N1 didn't reach these levels. The means were there to deal with them.

So the measures were there yet he took them away. So here we are.

Sadly, those polarized groups' single minded & blinkered view takes us down the road to hell.

The UK government knows that the public are thick as pig doodahs (see Brexit, 2019 election),now they are really taking the piss. The 'secret' scientific group SAGE ( Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies ) which is the group the government pretends to be following the science of - turns out that arch-cunt Cummings, whose only role is to bring about a no-deal Brexit and destabilise the country is sitting in that group. What the actual fuck? A political advisor in a scientific advice group is something that happens in places like China and Russia, it used to be very poplar in the Soviet Union and Cambodia under Pol Pot, it is becoming more popular in the USofA where the top moron has his friends and yes men advising him on technical stuff they don't understand.

It is quite obvious that the science the UK government claims to be following was very different from the science the rest of the World is following, perhaps that is because cunts like Cummings are helping provide that advice. The Cummings-Brexit government of the UK is not fit for purpose, the only use they possibly could have had was to ram a no-deal Brexit through because that will benefit them and the big money that sponsors them. The no-deal catastrophe is happening folks, add that to the economic disaster of C19 and the Great Depression will seem like a bit of a bad day. The PM is in hiding, I think he might jack it in shortly, claiming his health is too frail after his miraculous less than 2 day recovery in the ICU. It won't really matter who takes over from him because it is Cummings and the big money who are eally in charge and taking to the streets to protest is not possible at the moment. Win-win for the facists.

Pretty much sums it up although I would say Boris has been withdrawn. His face is no longer the branding to this colossal fuck up, his worth is being preserved for what comes after Covid I reckon.

I clocked that early doors.... he has again swerved the repercussions of this fuck up... if you remember I commented about him and Cummins both taking a huge back seat very very early on in this...

Just goes to show, this is still politics!

Personally I dont understand why the Conservatives have point blank refused to entertain Barnier's suggestion to extend the deadline for negotiations to be completed properly. Considering 2/3 months disappearing off the calendar, it's all a bit " We've MADE OUR DECISION"!!! Surely it makes sense to extend and then leave officially May/June 2021 ? Then again, a lot of things happened that didnt make sense..

Because it allows them to blame Covid 19, the EU, any-fucking-body for the no-deal Brexit they have always wanted,Of course anyone with a brain cell would realise that delaying the end of the transmission period until the effects of C19 to be lessened and for real grown-up talks to take place would be the way to go, This fuck-up has been from day one like someone demanding that deadlines are kept for building a house when the foundations have not even been laid - build it anyway, we don't care if it falls down. Deflection, distraction, spinning and blaming someone else is all you get from the Tories,

I'm sorry to say to the little Englanders.... your decision to leave the most powerful purchasing block in the world and go it alone was at the time, a terrible decision.

I did however have hope that as a nation we could appeal to the banking sector or private enterprise by allowing them some kind of deal including tax breaks and somehow our trade deal with the EU would eventually alow us to develop a new economy and I hoped we may prosper eventually in a decade or two's time and allow my grandkids to enjoy the trappings I have been lucky enough to enjoy for 40 years.

In the new world, where our children and almost certainly their children will be living through whatever the recovery from the biggest global economic crash ever recorded is, I don't think we as a solo nation will be able to recover from this.

We dont have the buying power, the industry or the natural resources to offer in return for decent trade and economic motion or resilience.

I genuinely think now more than ever, we need to stop, stand still and see where we are when this is over and decide where we want to be then...

I love to hear an opposing point of view...

In fact has anyone UK side seen anything like those yeaharing bellends stateside clamouring for the cessation of the lockdown???

While some are not respecting the social distancing restrictions in the larger urban areas, on the whole from what I have whitnessed I have seen lots and lots of good.

To be fair, the ‘yeaharing bellends’ are a small minority, even in the rogue state of the USA, the vast majority of people there are behaving sensibly and protecting themselves and others by staying home.

The minority are now in control in the democratic World. The howling loonies get all the media attention because of like Trump would say ‘reasons, you knew, stuff’. Of course loony-tunes anti-vaxers, gun rights retards, xenophobes, homophobes and all the other oxygen thieves make good news (for the media). Possibly the media is controlled by right-wing secret societies, but that sounds like a howling loony theory so I won’t go there, let’s just use facts eh? Quiet demonstrations like 1 million people gently protesting Brexit are nowhere near as juicy as less than a hundred racist thugs marching for Farage or a bunch of facists pretending to be anti-extremist. I think that’s obvious, you don’t get news reports saying 99% of people are nice and not much happens in most places.

But the most worrying thing to me is that the minority are in control of governments and of course, the minority ‘won’ the insane Brexit referendum. The biggest decision made in the history of UK ‘democracy’ (ha ha) was ‘won’ by less than 34% of the real electorate, and that is even if you leave out the 1.5 million 16 and 17 year olds who of course should be eligible to vote, if you are eligible to work and pay taxes then how can you be ineligible to vote in a democracy?

I would like to see Proportional representation introduced alongside compulsory voting, then a huge majority of people would not be unrepresented in Parliament. Of course any future life changing referendums should never be decided on a simple majority of those who could be bothered to vote and only people who had jumped through the hoops to ensure they were registered, voter registration should be automatic, if you are 16 or older and a UK citizen then you get a vote.

Do the minority rule?

Research by the Electoral Commission analysed electoral registers and found that 17% of eligible voters in Great Britain, as many as 9.4 million people, were either missing from the electoral register or not registered at their current address, with major errors affecting up to 5.6 million people.

Let’s be extremely generous and say that the number of non-registered people was 5 million, that means the Brexit so-called ‘will of the people’ was nowhere near a majority and the huge majority of seats won by the Tory party in the 2019 election is a farce.

Registered Electorate : 46,500,001
Un-registered : 5,000,000 (lower estimate)
Total Eligible To Vote : 50,000,001

Brexit
Leave : 17,410,742
34.8%

The General Election
Conservative Votes : 13,966,454
27.93%

If you adjust the figures taking into account the upper end of unregistered voters and include 16 and 17 year olds the ‘winners’ won with even smaller minorities.

Top end of unregistered voters (9.4m)

Brexit : 31.11%
Conservative Votes : 24.98%

Giving 16 and 17 year olds the vote they deserve:

Brexit : 30.33%
Tory Election victory : 24.33%

The Sky news interview with Ryanair's Michael O'Leary was a cracker. He ripped into Branson and other big airlines trying to fleece governments. He said that there was no reason for airlines to take more money from governments as they were having 80% of their staff costs covered already by the feds and as they were not flying at the moment their running costs were seriously reduced. He also suggested that if tax-exile Branson, who pays no UK tax wants a bail out he could provide that himself.

How many dole bludging shit cunts do we have....? Fucking million or so maybe as many as 10 million???

But were better off getting foreign workers in (the same ones we hated while Brexit was happening),when the entire planet is on lockdown, to pick fruit and veg for the dole queuing cunts, rather than have dolites do it for a wage???

Hold on, weve got people on 80% pay from the GVT doing fuck all in their back gardens and we still need foreign workers flown in to do it.......

Can someone please explain this to me because I am sure as fuck that if I was furloughed right now and someone was offering me a days work as opposed to sitting on my ever expanding arse, I'd fucking take it...

What have you got to loose?

80% or your normal dosh for doing nothing and then extra quids for doing an actual job, out in the sunshine and fresh air???

This country is fucking unbelievable....

Not as unbelievable as the US but pretty damn fucking close.
ive heard that the farmers , have give no the Romanian contracts over Brits , 1 excuse was , they are repeat workers ,who they offered contracts from last year. ,also I’ve heard these farms have usage of accommodation , and by employing the foreigners they can sell them the rooms, whereas if they employ Brits , they’ll have empty rooms ,and no extra cash .
me I’m totally, fucked and tomorrow gonna have to start looking for temporary work , no matter what .
Unfortunately for me , the large amount I earned 3 years ago. , upon which I paid she’d loads of tax, had my first holiday in 3 years and bought a new ( 6,5k new car ) means an get feck all . Yet a PAYE worker on exactly the same ,can get upto 2,500 ,where the Fecks is the fairness I that ,esp in year 2019/20 I’ll be registering an income 1/3 of what I earned in 201,7 and like most didn’t realise they’d be a pandemic , oh silly me.
Oh well Im alive ,where I know of 3 YIDS who won’t be renewing their season tickets through death .
Stay safe peeps

So how is everything blaming Trump and Boris ,and not the lying Commies out in China , who covered up the whole outbreak , and WHO who is led by a Dr , from Africa , who has never practised as a dr , and was elected by African nations and financed by China . I mean , how can a country ,massively more populated than Europe in a more densely populated area, have few deaths than London , or Belgium .
i sincerely hope the rest of the world sue them for trillions , and why are the Middle East , who are sitting on trillions barrels of oil they can’t sell . Keeping so quiet.
im sure Boris In hindsight knows he’s made mistakes , I’m sure if he’d really known , he would not have shaken so many peoples hands and put himself so close to death.
i mean hindsights a wonderful thing ,even Burkinshaw, proba
y our best manager in my lifetime probably regrets selling Jennings to Arsenal ,thinking Big Pat ,had seen better days and that Barry Daines was a better prospect , but we all make mistakes

I dont think anyone is blaming Boris or Trump for Covid 19. But they ARE 100% to blame for waiting and waiting and waiting some more to react when others reacted weeks earlier and as a result saved thousands of lives.
They did know about the severity of this, of course they did. Other countries shut down much faster and with efficient measures. The UK and the states waited. Only Johnson and Trump can clarify why, but maybe it's a mixture of arrogance, ignorance, stupidity or maybe they got bad advice, (I'd say all of of the above)...but regardless, I dont think anyone can blame any leader of any country for Covid 19 or any other virus. But they are to blame for their lack of leadership when it happens imo..

Heard an interesting clip from 2005 where George W Bush introduces a plan to prepare for the next pandemic. He speaks of how something like this usually hits us every century and we have to have plans in place when it does etc etc....
No doubt, either Obama or Trump shelved that ridiculous idea in the meantime.

Perhaps we should seek reparations from spain for the flu 100 years ago,but perhaps closer to home is the USA for the banking crash in 2008,dont remember people pointing fingers then.As far as I see, almost every country looks to have made mistakes, and history will judge that when this is finally passed.

Mate, I didn't expect this Spanish flu bullshit from you. The Spanish flu DID NOT start in Spain, it had fuck all to do with Spain, the only reason it was called that was because Spain was the only country that reported it, all the others were under media lockdowns because of the little war that was going on. The are three theories about where it started - British troops in France, the good old US of A or China, the only place that it absolutely definitely did not start was in Spain. Don't feed the facist Brexiters who are spreading this bollocks.

100,000! Spanish Health authorities also reported that a total of 100,875 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital. That won't be on the front pages. 882,000 recorded recoveries World wide - and that figure probably one includes those who were sick enough to be admitted to hospitals. Good news, but if the infection rates go back above one then we are all doomed again, so stay home and don't be a cunt, even if where you live has released you into the wild, to spread your germs and infect me.

I keep reading about people who want to go back to normal. Nope, no way Pedro, not happening. We got clobbered so badly here because February was a fantastic month weather wise. Everybody was out having fiestas, loads of huge gatherings and all that nasty hugging and kissing they like to do here. Our lawyer is very huggy-kiissy, I had to tell her I was English and din't do that emotional stuff, it didn't stop her though. Down with that sort of thing! If everybody starts congregating freely in the nice weather then like the very intelligent Mrs Merkel said, the infection rate goes above one and we are back to square one.

If I am right the current administration got rid if entire departments that worked to stop these pandemic outbreaks and essentially put the CDC asleep with huge funding cuts.... I think the infrastructure the US relied on to support this type of scenario was dismantled by Trumps administration.

In response to @Wotspur @Dave is right. Blaming anyone for this is tantamount to spreading horse shit conspiracy theories but they have been found wanting when it comes to being decisive decision makers.... they've relied on the "experts" they vilified and hedged their bets at all corners and failed to make any decision for too long and ended up doing anything. Even now they are half-arsedly imposing a lockdown without ensuring people are not frivolously spreading the disease...

For me the arch cunt Cummins is behind all of the major decisions taken or not and Johnson is culpable for following his advice...

The government is yet again rudderless and is so during the largest crisis of modern times... this is simply unacceptable. We have different suits standing up every day briefing the country, there is no cohesive voice.

Anyways keep fit, keep safe and most importantly, dont be a cunt.

Spot on. The near consensus is that it started in Kansas, and spread through the networks of army training camps that popped up everywhere before making its way to the trenches. But again and again, we have to blame somebody--it was India when cholera spread everywhere in the nineteenth century, China with plague in the American West in the 1890s, and so on.

Seems everyone has missed , the anti virus brigade from the USA has spread over here ,a certain Piers Corbyn and 50 fellow idiots were outside Downing Street ,saying the virus is fake .( or perhaps it just fit their agenda )
if only his brother was in power , with Abbott in as chancellor we’d all be ok , I’m sure
Every nation has made a mistake , Johnson didn’t lock down early enough , Sweden didn’t lock down at all , now they’re having a crisis .
lets blame China ,and WHO ,who have lied throughout this , there is no way China , has had fewer deaths than Iran .
people have mentioned countries that have done well ,New Zealand 3m people and 50m sheep is spread over a much larger area , there are 6 major towns , none of them bigger than Birmingham . Australia a massive area and less densely populated and Germany , well that’s just Germany . How about comparing us to France and Italy and Spain .....but it’s not a race to the bottom of being the worst nation , but let’s not bash the good that has come out
it’s bought our neighbourhood together , I even had a water fight yesterday after at 4pm With my Gooner loving neighbour ,which I won , when he conceded defeat, that boiling water bombs worked wonders .
i want the Nightingale units to be a safe haven for the elderly released from hospital , instead of returning to nursing and care homes .
