It's not even a surprise anymore...

I'd be surprised if we actually did anything before the last week of the window...

Such a Mickey Mouse outfit when it comes to player acquisition and development...

Pre season started yesterday, where Frank met 80% of the current playing staff for the first time. Let's see where we are in a couple of weeks before the usual outrage.

Recent reports coming out of Spain have suggested that Atletico had made a new bid of just €55million (£47.3million) with a potential further €15million (£12.9million) in add-ons.

However, football.london understands that at this point Tottenham have not received a new or recent bid for Romero. It's again worth looking at how close that reported base figure is to what they signed the Argentine for in the first place.

With all the noise in Spain, it seems to be quiet on the Romero front currently at Spurs. Whether that changes or not will likely depend on the player on his return in the coming days.

The centre-back is expected back at pre-season training at Hotspur Way among the group of internationals due later this week. New boss Thomas Frank is understood to be excited about working with Romero and wants him in his backline this season. As Simeone suggested, who wouldn't?

The club have discussed internally a move for their former full-back Kyle Walker-Peters, who is out of contract after leaving Southampton, as he would boost their club-trained quota. The current belief, however, is that a deal will not be pursued.

Tottenham are in ongoing talks about extending the contract of goalkeeper Josh Keeley ahead of a potential new loan move, football.london understands.

The 22-year-old Spurs stopper had a huge season of development at Leyton Orient with 16 clean sheets, scoring a dramatic headed goal in the FA Cup tie against Oldham, receiving praise from Pep Guardiola before earning a senior call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad.

Tottenham are exploring a move for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa.

BBC Sport understands Brentford have been made aware of their London rivals' interest in the 28-year-old, in a deal that could reunite the forward with his former manager Thomas Frank, now in charge at Spurs.

Sources have indicated that Wissa is open to a move across the capital. Wissa has courted major interest from Premier League clubs in recent months, Nottingham Forest failing to sign the DR Congo international in January.

But Spurs now have an interest in the former Lorient player, who scored 20 goals last season.

Wissa's current deal expires next summer - but there is an option to extend it by a further year.

It is understood Brentford are reluctant to lose Wissa this summer, having already lost manager Frank, captain Christian Norgaard to Arsenal and goalkeeper Mark Flekken to Bayer Leverkusen.

They could also lose Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United, who have had two offers rejected for the Cameroon forward but remain in talks with Brentford over a move.

Spurs are looking at attacking reinforcements, with West Ham attacker Mohammed Kudus among the players they have an interest in.

This is a very un-Levy-like signing. Only 5 mil apart and he agreed to bridge the gap? Alternate universe stuff. Still only 24 so should be a great signing.

Is he a R winger... Kulu, Brennan, Odobert

He was very good against us and thing he is better than the aforementioned aside from Kulu, so good signing...

If Dom fails to make an impact, he'd do a job upfront.

I'm not going to get too excited about MGW until it's done, especially since City have been sniffing around as well AND Forest will be moving Elanga. Losing the two of them would be a big blow, and they have the money to hold on if needed. But good move and real sign of ambition if true.

ENIC must have gone down the back of the sofa for some spare change for these transfers .. bloody hell.

At this rate we’ll be hijacking the Mbueno deal as well.

This made me laugh - sound on

Reading around, there seems to be a growing feeling that we’ve had, or are about to have, some significant investment into the club and this is why we’ve spent nearly £120m in two days.

Most consistent rumour is a £300m sponsorship deal from the Saudis.

Who knows, but I’ve just assumed that there will be a lot of exits to finance some of this. Which, given that I’d think the likes of Richarlison and Bissouma would fetch a good price from the Saudis, might amount to the same thing.

We certainly do need to move some players on. Apparently the two new arrivals will make 32 players in the first team squad which isn’t really sustainable, even if you’re competing in 4 competitions.

Also, if we do complete Morgan Gibbs-White, could this be the first time ever we’ve just paid the release clause and not spent months haggling ?

Yep, however, it's a little further East...

To me, MGW doesn't appear as a sexy Euro-style pickup. Nothing bad about that.
Having said that, I haven't seen enough of him to know any better other than when we've played Brentford.
Obviously, Frank knows him very well & I'm certain he has spoken highly of MGW.
Surprised Brentford didn't put a clause in Frank's departure agreement about not coming back & raiding the club.

Richi & Biss should bank us 80M - 100M if they go to the Saudi League, no?

MGW is at Forest. But he (and Kudus) are definitely cut from the same cloth as some of the guys he had at Brentford
