I still can't see us winning at Elland Road but with the prospect of at least some European competition next season, would even that be enough to give them a kick up the arse ?
Probably not. I’d be willing to bet most of the players, especially the experienced ones, want no part of the Conference League.

Almost decided on the punt I'm going to have at the weekend.

Treble of Newcastle/Brighton/Leeds comes in at 20/1

Although Newcastle/Brighton/Draw is 29/1 .. 🤔

Had a look at that, going to have a punt myself at those 3 to win plus Everton to beat Bournemouth...comes in at 30/1.

Or.....take out Brighton and have Leicester to beat West Ham ?

In the reverse fixture back in December, Leicester did win 2-0 but Rodgers was still their manager back then and their form has generally been awful since then.

They beat us 4-1 on the 11th of Feb (of course 🤣) and in the next 16 games to now, their record is P16, W1, D4, L11 and I don't think they're good enough at the moment to pull a win out of the bag, although it's always possible that Moyes might rest certain players for the ECL final.

The Brighton/Villa game is the one I can't quite decide on. Form-wise, Villa beat us 2-1 and then held Liverpool to a draw at Anfield so they'll certainly be up for it. Brighton, however, twatted Arsenal at home and then got twatted by Newcastle just four days later, but then they beat Southampton and held City to a draw as well.

A Villa win guarantees them Europa Conference League even if we do somehow beat Leeds, so that would also give them something to play for. Brighton winning changes nothing - not even their league position - but I keep thinking they'll still be too strong for Villa.

Yep, it's an incredible achievement considering they were playing non league football 9 years ago. Was my Dad's club. He used to tell me when he stood in the stands as a kid when Joe Payne scored 9 in a 12-0 win V Bristol Rovers in 1936. He'd be a happy man today...

Have heard a whisper that Arteta is talking to PSG about becoming their new gaffer ? Don't know how true it is but holy fuck, that would be hilarious.

If he goes, will ArseAnal then turn to Nagelsmann?
That could be quite disappointing as I rate JN highly.

Fair point. But I think JN is a legend in his own mind tbh...
If Arteta does go it'll set them back hugely regardless of who comes in. It probably won't happen but its nice to dream.
Anyway, they don't concern me. We concern me. But have to say, i like what's happening in the squad. A good bit of spring cleaning being done and some freshening up. Badly badly needed. I get the feeling I'm really going to like Ange. I just hope most of our fellow Yids will give the bloke time and show patience. If by 10 games into next season the results aren't improving, fair enough....but think this guy will have us purring again in time.

He gets a few transfer seasons for me mate... but let's be honest about how much he can achieve being constrained by the Arch Cunt...

If I see the players busting their balls ans the intent for winning games... I will be placated.

It’s not everyday I agree with Carra, but he’s spot on here. If Everton get done for this, Man City should get chucked so far down the pyramid that they have to hire Pascal Chimbonda to manage them.

Taliban United beat Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford and knocked them out of the league cup earlier. I'd be surprised if Ten Hag lasts the season at this rate.

Longer he stays the better from anyone's perspective apart from Utd fans...

That club needs a full reset...

Just watching some of the games this evening. It's really unbelievable how many very good teams there are in the league this season.

Christmas stuffing for Nuno? I like Nuno, he's a good bloke, he was the wrong choice for us, but he'll probably be a good manager for Forest. He was royally stuffed yesterday by the ref and VAR. The 2nd yellow was a joke, why the fuck can't VAR say 'no ref you fucked that up' and overturn a 2nd yellow? It's bollocks innit? Probably, definitely, maybe a penalty that should have been given as well. Swings and roundabouts I suppose, the Dippers weren't awarded a penalty against the Goons and that was funny!

Not being able to review a second yellow is the stupidest thing about how VAR is implemented, and that’s saying something. Agree about Nuno, I think he’ll keep them up and do quite well there.

Klopp apparently leaving the Dippers at the end of the season. I'll start a sweep on how many times their fans will mention the word "Nagelsmann" over the coming months ..
